About ISSA
Formed in 1955, the International Shipsuppliers & Services Association (ISSA) is now about to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee – 60 years of service to the maritime industry.
• It represents nearly 2,000 ship suppliers throughout the world.
• There are 43 national associations of ship suppliers as full ISSA Members and associate members in 50 other countries. Members’ goods and services are to be found in every one of the 550 ports served by ISSA Members.
• ISSA aims to provide a better understanding between buyers and suppliers through consultation and communication.
• It has Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) status with both the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and UNCTAD, assuming an active role in the work of both these UN organizations.
• ISSA operates a Code of Ethics for members to ensure high standards in day-today operations, thereby strengthening the relationship between ship supplier and buyer in this ‘relationship’ business.
• It has rigorous vetting procedures for companies seeking election to membership. By selecting an ISSA member, you can be assured of the best service, finest quality and fairest prices for your supplies.
